The London Resort has announced that the current application has been withdrawn.
Kate Willard OBE, Estuary Envoy and Chair of the Thames Estuary Growth Board said “We are very sorry to hear of the withdrawal of the London Resort planning application, but fully understand the reasons.
The classification of Tilbury as a Freeport requiring a change of ferry terminal and the need to balance the potential for major new investment and jobs on a brownfield site with the environmental importance of the Swanscombe Peninsula and significant investment in mitigation make this a sensible course of action.
We remain in close contact with London Resort and welcome their intention to resubmit the planning application for this exciting project later this year.”
